Kawasaki’s Jonathan Rea has set the fastest time in opening practice for round one of the 2019 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, Yamaha Finance round, at Phillip Island this morning.

The three-time WorldSBK champion proved he is still at the top of his game by setting the fastest time in opening practice for round one of the 2019 Australian Superbike Championship at Phillip Island this weekend. 

Tom Sykes’ last four years in WorldSBK have been trying, to say the least. The 2013 world champion has still been competitive – he’s now moved to 34 wins in the production series, fifth on the all-time list.

For a compact island measuring just 26 by nine kilometres, Phillip Island punches well above its weight when it comes to the number of things to do.
