The 2022 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is coming to a close this weekend, but riders are just starting to rev up for what is set to be a fire-cracking season finale at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit this weekend, 18th – 20th November.

The 2022 World Champion has been crowned, but there’s still history set to be made this weekend for the twelfth and final round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, Grand Ridge Brewery Australian Round. Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is set to claim back the record for most WorldSBK races run. Falling behind Assen this year, WorldSBK will be looking to wrap up its 64th race at Phillip Island, with the circuit first making its WorldSBK debut back in 1990.

The World Champions have been crowned, but the stakes are still just as high as the WorldSBK paddock look to finish their 2022 seasons on a high. In what has been 11 long years since Ducati’s last World Champion was crowned with Carlos Checa, Bautista’s Championship title also saw the 37-year-old be just the second Spanish rider to win this prestigious crown and the first time since 2011, 2012 & 2013 that three different World Superbike Champions, on three different manufacturers have been crowned!

With changes in comparison to years gone by and a return to a traditional starting point at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, the provisional 2023 World Superbike calendar promises intense action from the start.
