WSBK – RACE 1

Toprak Razgatlioglu dominated WorldSBK Race 1 in Estoril, securing BMW’s first win at the circuit with a commanding 9-second lead. Despite a poor start, Razgatlioglu fought back to claim victory, while Nicolo Bulega recovered from 8th to finish 2nd. Iker Lecuona secured Honda’s first podium of the season in 3rd. Finally, some light for him and Honda! The race saw several high-profile crashes, including current WSBK Champion Alvaro Bautista, ending his 2024 championship hopes.
Notably, this race featured five different manufacturers in the top 5 for the first time since last year. Razgatlioglu’s win marks his 55th career victory and strengthens his position in the championship standings.

Bad news for Aussie Remy Gardner who suffered a season ending crash resulting in a fractured wrist. Gardner commented “Not how I wanted the season to end. Bring on 2025 “. Slated for back surgery in the off season, we wish him all the best, a speedy recovery and congratulate Remy on a gutsy effort in 2024 including his first ever WSBK podium in Assen. We can’t wait to welcome him back to Phillip Island Circuit, fit and healthy ready to shake things up for the 2025 Season Opener on 21 – 23 February 2025!

WSBK – RACE 2

Bulega claimed a record-breaking win in the Superpole Race by just 0.003 seconds, the closest finish in WorldSBK history. However, Razgatlioglu responded with a commanding victory in Race 2, finishing nearly four seconds ahead.
The 2024 WorldSBK Championship battle will be decided at the season finale in Jerez, with Toprak Razgatlioglu holding a 46-point lead over Nicolo Bulega. The BMW rider remains confident heading into Jerez, while rookie Bulega expresses pride in his unexpected title challenge during his debut season. This race saw several crashes, including British riders Tarran Mackenzie and Sam Lowes.
Danilo Petrucci secured the Independent Riders’ title, finishing seventh.

WorldWCR – RACE 1

Ana Carrasco claimed victory in a dramatic FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship Race 1 at Estoril, which was red-flagged due to rain. Championship rival Maria Herrera made a stunning comeback from last place to finish second, despite starting from the back of the grid due to mechanical issues. Beatriz Neila completed an all-Spanish podium in third. The race was cut short at two-thirds distance when heavy rain caused several crashes, including Tayla Relph, who, impressively managed to finish fifth despite falling. This result sets up an intense championship battle heading into Race 2 on Sunday.

WorldWCR – RACE 2

Sara Sanchez claimed her maiden FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship victory in a thrilling Race 2 at Estoril. Sanchez edged out championship leader Ana Carrasco by just 0.032 seconds in a dramatic last-lap battle, with Maria Herrera completing the all-Spanish podium. With this result, the championship will be decided at the final round in Jerez, where Carrasco leads Herrera by 18 points. Notable incidents included crashes for Tayla Relph and Jessica Howden, while Roberta Ponziani secured fifth place.

Aussie Tayla Relph is ending the inaugural WorldWCR season strong, showing consistent improvement and hot on the heels of the lead group.
Regarding Race two’s incident Relph commented “On lap 5, I pulled in 0.6 seconds from the lead group in just 3 corners, but sadly tucked the front under brakes going into Turn 4.” We wish Tayla luck for the finale in Jerez and are proud of team TAYCO’s effort and results so far!
