Falzon Set To Score With WorldSBK Wildcard

WorldSBK By February 18, 2018 December 13th, 2019

Daniel Falzon Strip

Yamaha Racing Team’s Daniel Falzon is ready to make a point on the world stage with his wildcard entry in World Superbikes at the 2018 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, Yamaha Finance round at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, February 23-25

“It is going to be an amazing experience to run back-to-back ASBK and World Superbikes in one weekend. It will be hectic, but the experience will be phenomenal, and I can’t wait.

Physically, it will be pretty difficult. We have a packed schedule, where we have back-to-back races and longer races in World Superbikes which we are not accustom to in ASBK.

If we can come to World Superbikes and get a point, and make a point. It will be fantastic for me as a rider, and fantastic for the Yamaha Racing Team.”

Said Falzon.

Australian representation has been boosted with Goulburn’s Troy Herfoss joining Falzon with wildcard status in World Superbikes, while Wollongong campaigner, Wayne Maxwell has been awarded one event entry.

In World Supersport, Goulburn’s new teenage sensation, 17-year-old Tom Toparis, will race against the world’s best as a wild card in World Supersport – alongside Australia’s season campaigners, Anthony West and Lachlan Epis.
