Young Australian, Olly Simpson has had a brilliant start to his 2015 season.

This weekend he was back on home soil racing in the Superbike World Championship, Moto3 support class at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. As well as being the opening round to the World Superbike series it was also the opening round of the Australian Moto3/125GP Championship where Olly rode a KTM Moto3 bike.

Olly flew into Thursdays free 30 minute practice, setting the fastest lap time aboard a KTM Moto3 bike. Giving him the best opportunity to get his bike set up just right for the rest of the weekend

On Friday Olly had one 20 minute practice session in the morning, however due to a technical problem he only completed 3 laps for the session.

The afternoon 20 minute qualifying session saw an all new Olly and he once again set the fastest time which putting him on Pole position for the 3 races of the weekend.

Olly’s form rolled into Saturdays races, making great starts in both races. Not only did he manage to come away with two wins but also broke the lap record.

Sunday morning saw Olly’s last race for the weekend, after making another great start he was able to come away with a win and on the last lap of the race once again broke the lap record.

Olly’s great form over the weekend was very good practice for him as he prepares for the coming season in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the World Junior Moto3 Championship he will be competing in. Olly heads over to Europe on the 27th of March.

Olly would like to say a huge thank you to his great sponsors Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Steeline Hunter, Rural Liquid Fertilizers, Arai Europe & Simpson Crash Repair
