The 2019 FIM World Supersport 300 Championship moved onto to Spain’s Jerez for the fourth chapter at the Acerbis Spanish Round, June 7-9.

Phillip Island Circuit backed Tom Bramich (Carl Cox-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki) was more determined than ever before despite a challenging start to his European assault.

“This round has been our best one yet, with near perfect conditions the entire weekend (a relief after the previous rounds). Jerez is definitely one of my favourite tracks so far in Europe, it’s very technical and very fast.”

Said Bramich.

With more than 50 riders on the 2019 WorldSSP300 grid, practice and qualifying sessions are split into Group A and Group B, with the top 30 from the two groups qualifying for Sunday’s race. For all riders who qualify outside of the top 30, they are granted one final opportunity to line up on the grid with a ‘last chance’ race on Saturday afternoon, and the top six over the line will compete in Sunday’s main race.

In order to maintain a 9-race calendar for the championship, the Spanish circuit hosted and additional WorldSSP300 race on Saturday, following the unfortunate cancellation of the race at Imola due to server weather.

Bramich, in Group B kicked off his weekend getting up to speed and setting his bike on Friday’s practice sessions, with strong results placing the Aussie 20th fastest overall on the opening day.

Bramich was able to back up this pace on Saturday, qualifying in 11th position to go directly through to the main races.

“We’ve been making steps forward throughout this whole year and we have made the main race directly through the qualifying, with only 2.5 seconds separating the whole field”

Said Bramich.

Tom finished in 26th and 24th in Race 1 and Race 2 respectively, improving on his previous results.

“We’re moving in the right direction and we can’t wait for Misano”

Concluded Bramich.

The 2019 FIM World Supersport 300 Championship continues onto Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the Pata Riviera Di Rimini Round, June 21-23.
